The “Antonis Tritsis” park is located at the place with the toponym Pyrgos Vasilissis or Eptalofos in western Metropolitan Athens, within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Ilio. It is the largest Metropolitan Park of Athens, with a total area of about 1,200 acres. Indicatively it is mentioned that Hyde Park in London has an area of 1,420 acres, Central Park in New York 3,410 acres, while the National Park 158 acres.
The existence of the liquid element in a large proportion within the Park, both in the form of six artificial lakes, and an artificial channel that connects them, which ensures the uninterrupted flow of water between the lakes and its recycling, as well as the rich flora and fauna of the Park, make it a unique place of natural beauty, integrated in the residential fabric. Its characteristics are unique for western Athens, but also for the whole Basin.
